About Mr. Boyle

Welcome!

My name is Mr. Boyle, and I'm the K-4 Classroom Music Teacher & Gr. 4 Choral Director at Lake Garda School! I am originally from Long Island, NY, but moved to Hartford, CT to attend the University of Hartford's The Hartt School, where I
studied vocal music education and earned a Bachelor's of Music Degree in May, 2014.

I absolutely love the Region #10 Community, and the wonderful people I get to work with on a daily basis at Lake Garda. The 2016-17 school year will be my third year here! I am so fortunate to make music with some of the most outstanding young musicians I've had the pleasure of teaching, and I am always so proud of their individual accomplishments!

In addition to teaching at Lake Garda during the school year, I spend my summers at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, where I am working towards a Master's of Music Education Degree in choral methods. I absolutely love this degree program, as it has given me the opportunity to meet music educators from around the country. It is so cool to have connections and colleagues across the US! Next summer, 2017, I will travel to London, UK to complete my coursework and earn my degree in August; I can't wait!

I am a product of music education in our schools, and I am very proud of the strong music program I grew up in back in NY. My public school music teachers still remain some of my most important mentors. They quickly guided me to the path of music education, and I couldn't thank them more! I truly believe that the arts are a crucial element in the formation of a young mind, and especially important as students learn how to creatively express themselves.

When I'm not at the "The Lake" I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, relaxing by the beach, and exploring my Downtown Hartford neighborhood with my puppy, Clinton!
