What can I do as a PTA member?

The PTA is a great way to get involved and meet others in the school community. There are many volunteers needed throughout the year to help in ways both big and small. You can volunteer to serve on a committee, chair or co-chair an event, help out at a school function, bake for the teachers and staff, decorate a bulletin board and more. The possibilities are endless and the best thing is that you can choose to do what you’re interested in and what your schedule will allow!

Additionally, you can attend PTA meetings to meet new friends, gather information, offer your opinions and recommendations and vote on topics discussed.

How can I get involved?

  • Be sure to complete the volunteer interest form on the membership site and select the opportunities that you are interested in volunteering for.  You can sign-up to volunteer in one or many ways – the choice is yours.
  • If you aren’t able to volunteer during daytime events, you can note on the sign-up sheet that you’d like to volunteer a service such as cooking/baking for a hospitality event, typing student’s books for publishing house, preparing items for a special event, etc.

    • Chair/Co-Chair an event.Whether you have expertise or an interest in a particular event, consider running that event with other friends to get your feet wet or coordinate it if the event needs a leader.
